Flying, a guide

Flyers are fearless. It’s a dangerous and exhilarating sport that requires enormous discipline. These athletes must have a strong core and an excellent sense of balance to control their flight. They are usually the shortest and leanest on the cheerleading squad. Two or three spotters make up the flying team, and are always present to help stabilise the flyer and catch her when she falls. Head injuries and broken bones are common, so trust between a flyer and her team is essential.
